IDAH engineering team has just finished the in-house commissioning of the co-rotating twin-screw extruder (Model: EP-50D). New Vertical Machining Center Along with the increase of our machine demand, this year we added another vertical machining center (VMC) with a bigger worktable. This machine can handle material with dimensions up to 1000 mm length, 600 mm width, and 450 mm height. The spindle can rotate up to 15,000 rpm while achieving precision up to 10 microns (0.01 mm). Other than chicken feed, duck feed is also a major type of poultry feed. The formulation for duck feed contains a high concentration of fiber and makes the mash very puffy. It is a rule of thumb to know that it is relatively harder to treat any formulation with a high fiber level using massive direct steam. Over-dosed direct steam will eventually create cracks on the surface. The concentration of fiber and pellet quality is equally proportional. However, a high concentration of fiber will lower the efficiency of pelleting capacity. Around one percent of water can be added to the mixer to compensate for any raw material for pre-hydrating. This pre-hydrating by the mixer will help in the pelleting process.

We have delivered more than 40 carousel dryers which are used in aqua feed production. The limitation of the shrimp feed pelleting is the mash moisture during pelleting. Lower pre-conditioned mash moisture (12-13%) will lower cooking in the mash compared to mash with higher moisture (15-16%). Higher cooking in the mash will result in better pellet integrity, pellet density, and water stability in water.

Extruder start-up waste can be reused! The BN-50H dryer is operated with a 3.7 kW drive motor. With two feeding doors, one exhaust pipe, and a manual slide gate. Steam-jacket the heater will help to dry 200-250 kg per batch of extrusion start-up material down to 10-12%. This machine opens up a new possibility to re-cycle the start-up material. Sharing is caring- IDAH cares for your needs webinar for shrimp feed pelleting technology Through this two hours webinar, IDAH shared the 40 years' worth of knowledge in shrimp feed production to the diverse audience of how shrimp feed is produced in the Asia Pacific (APAC). In APAC, pelleted shrimp feed is the preferred process of shrimp feed due to shrimp's slow feeding habit and high palatability as the result of feed smell preservation.
