Shrimp Feed

IDAH Pellet mill is known for its ability to handle high moisture feed mash up to 17% (%db), while maintaining a good post-conditioning process, to ensure pellets come out with high Pellet Durability Index (PDI) and water stability.

This customer incorporate ZP-125B & ZP-150 ultra-fine grinder in their post-grinding system. This ultra-fine powder will increase feed cooking, thus improving feed digestibility. They also used our twin paddle mixer for better homogeneity when mixing micro-nutrients. Moreover, in 2017, they started using the IDAH Vertical Cross Counterflow Rotary (VCCR) dryer designed for uniform drying purposes. The tilting trays and the airflow design, enable each pellet to be mixed well and achieve the suitable temperature treatment throughout the dryer.

With a series of research and development, IDAH has perfected the carousel drying technology in shrimp feed drying. We have delivered more than 40 carousel dryers which are used in aqua feed production. The limitation of the shrimp feed pelleting is the mash moisture during pelleting. Lower pre-conditioned mash moisture (12-13%) will lower cooking in the mash compared to mash with higher moisture (15-16%). Higher cooking in the mash will result in better pellet integrity, pellet density, and water stability in water.

After 15 years of usage, customer decided to renew their machines with the same setup. Customer uses the configuration of one KX-4633D (Differential diameter conditioner) and two KX-3030 (Single shaft conditioner) as pre-conditioner, combined with the pellet mill PM-53SA pellet mill and Post conditioner KC-06D for producing high quality shrimp feed. The setup is proven to provide high degree of starch cooking and good water stability to produce high quality shrimp feed.

At the beginning of 2020, we are successful commissioning again in Indonesia, with Best wishes for a happy New Year. Thanks to the feature of longer retention time at high temperature provided by Post conditioner KC-05A, our Pellet mill PM-53F is capable of producing high-quality shrimp feed, with higher water stability.

This customer in India started to purchase our shrimp feed production line back in 2015, with the initial investment in 2 production lines. In 7 years, they have purchased additional 8 production lines, which are divided into 5 production towers in two manufacturing locations, estimated annual production of 180,000 tons. Their shrimp feed size ranges from 1.0 – 2.0 mm size.

Our client is a globally well-known company for animal nutrition and aquaculture feed, employing approximately 7,500 people in more than 30 countries' branch offices. Four new modern shrimp lines were purchased from IDAH in 2016.
